Abstract

ABSTRACT
Digital literacy has become a cornerstone of participation in contemporary
knowledge-based economies, enabling individuals to access information,
communicate effectively, and engage in digital learning and employment
opportunities. Despite rapid technological advancements, substantial gaps
persist in digital education due to unequal access to technology, limited
digital skills, and socio-economic disparities. These gaps are particularly
pronounced among rural populations, economically disadvantaged groups,
elderly learners, and marginalized communities. Inadequate digital literacy
restricts access to e-education, limits employment prospects, and
exacerbates existing social inequalities. This article examines the key
dimensions of digital literacy and education gaps, including the digital
divide, access to technology, internet connectivity, and skill development. It
further highlights major challenges faced by learners and proposes strategic
measures such as inclusive digital policies, affordable connectivity,
structured training programs, and awareness initiatives. Strengthening
digital literacy is essential for promoting social inclusion, economic growth,
and sustainable national development.
