| Abstract | The digital revolution is reshaping entrepreneurship across the globe, enabling marginalised groups, especially women, to participate more actively in business creation and growth. This study examines the emerging startup ecosystem of Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu, focusing on the role of digital technologies in empowering women entrepreneurs. Using primary and secondary data sources, the research analyzes key trends from a sample of 120 women entrepreneurs engaged in sectors such as e-commerce, handicrafts, food processing, and digital services. The findings reveal that 70% of women actively use digital tools like smart phones and social media for business promotion, while 85% report significant market expansion through digital platforms. However, challenges remain notably digital illiteracy 60% and limited access to formal finance 55%, alongside societal and family pressures 40%. The study highlights the socio-economic impact of women-led startups, including job creation and cultural preservation. Finally, the research suggests targeted policy measures such as digital literacy programs, financial inclusion schemes, and mentorship networks to further support women entrepreneurs in Tenkasi. This paper contributes valuable insights into how digital transformation is driving inclusive rural entrepreneurship. |
