Abstract | This study examines the challenges and an opportunity faced by rural women entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu,
India, and highlights their role in driving socio-economic development. Despite their significant contributions
to the economy, these women often face barriers such as limited access to financial resources, inadequate
training, and societal constraints. These obstacles hinder their entrepreneurial aspirations and affect broader
community development. However, emerging opportunities, including government initiatives, community
networks, and technological advancements, can help overcome these challenges. The study aims to identify
strategies for empowering rural women, fostering economic growth, and promoting gender equality. By
understanding these dynamics, the research provides valuable insights for shaping policies and programs that
support rural women entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu, ultimately contributing to sustainable economic
development.
