Employment generation and structural transformation are key indicators of economic development in a state
economy. Structural transformation refers to the shift of economic activities from traditional sectors such as
agriculture to more productive sectors like industry and services. This transformation plays a vital role in
improving productivity, increasing income levels, and creating employment opportunities. As economies
grow, labor gradually moves from low-productivity agricultural activities to higher-productivity industrial
and service sectors. This process helps in reducing unemployment and underemployment while promoting
inclusive and sustainable development. The present study focuses on analyzing the relationship between
employment generation and structural transformation in the state economy. It also examines sectoral shifts in
employment patterns and their impact on economic growth and development. The study highlights the
importance of effective policies, investment, and skill development programs in promoting employment
opportunities and accelerating structural transformation.
