The Bharat Ratna C Subramaniam Centenary Library at Nallamuthu Gounder Mahalingam College (NGMC Library) has been a cornerstone of academic life since its founding in 1957, starting with 5,000 books. Today, this vital resource has expanded significantly, housing over 69,920 books to serve the student body. Beyond its extensive book collection, the library provides access to a wealth of current research through 83 international journals, 115 national journals, and 25 magazines. Its core mission is to empower the Institute community by delivering comprehensive information services and access to a diverse range of bibliographic and full-text resources, encompassing both digital and printed formats. The Central Library is well-resourced with modern facilities, offering materials such as CD-ROMs, online databases, audio and video cassettes, electronic journals, patents, electronic standards, theses, reports, and monographs. Electronic access to various full-text and bibliographic databases, as well as e-journals, is readily available through the library’s homepage. This homepage also provides essential links to information regarding library policies, operating hours, collections, services, sections, and the location of materials. Patrons are encouraged to visit the library to explore the rich collection of printed resources. Utilizing the AUTOLIB software system with barcode scanning, the library ensures efficient operation and circulation. Entry to the library requires students and staff to register their roll number in the E-Gate system. The library employs a user-friendly, browser-compatible open access system, and its Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) can be found at http://43.246.137.51:8080/AutoLib/.
